A journalist, editor and teacher, she has worked in newspapers, magazines, books and online in Australia and overseas. She teaches journalism and digital communications at the University of Canberra and Canberra Institute of Technology respectively.

A former literary editor of The South China Morning Post, she has also reviewed books for and contributed author profiles to The Sydney Morning Herald and The Canberra Times.
Charlotte has written on technology on and off for 18 years, once edited a mobile phone and gadget magazine, and is a published author, of a book about digital publishing – Weird Wild Web (Penguin Australia 1999).
